The "world's cheapest car" may now well be the world's most expensive.
It is the jewel encrusted GoldPlus Nano, covered in 80 kilograms of 22 carat gold and 15kg of silver and inlayed with 10,000 semi-precious stones and gems.
The original Nano - hailed as the world's cheapest car at around NZ$3000 - was launched three years by the huge Indian industrial group, Titan, and its chairman Ratan Tata unveiled the jewellery car in Mumbai overnight (NZ time).
The one-off version will tour Tata-owned Goldplus jewellery stores across India and is said to celebrate 5000 glorious years of jewellery making in India.
